cultural STEWARD

One of the most meaningful ways I connect with my culture is through food. Recreating traditional dishes using recipes passed down through generations allows me to honor my heritage and keep those family stories alive. In Mexican culture, food is more than nourishment, it's a way of building community. Gathering to prepare and share a home-cooked meal is a cherished tradition that fosters connection, warmth, and belonging. Mexico is known for its welcoming spirit and the deep, family like bonds shared among neighbors. These values of hospitality and togetherness are what influenced me into who I am now and those values are something I strive to embody within my community.
